How to Set Up Push Notifications with Alarm.com

Get real-time updates about your home with Alarm.com's alerts. You'll receive notifications for incidents such as leaving home without arming your security system, unusual activity, missed dog walker visits, or power outages while you're away.


Setting up these alerts is straightforward, but first, make sure to enable Push Notifications on your Alarm.com app. Watch the quick video tutorial to learn how. Instructions for the web dashboard can be found below.

To enable push notifications in the Alarm.com app, follow these steps:


  • Log into the app
  • Tap the Menu icon in the top right
  • Scroll down and select Notifications
  • Turn the Push Notifications toggle switch on.

Prefer to use your web dashboard?

To enable push notifications for the first time, you must do so through the Alarm.com app. Subsequent re-enabling can be done through the website.

Here's a guide to enabling push notifications on the web dashboard:


  1. Log in to the web dashboard.
  2. Go to the "Notifications" section.
  3. Click "Manage" at the top of the screen.
  4. Select the device you want to receive notifications on.
  5. Toggle the "Enable Notifications" switch to turn push notifications on or off.
  6. Click "Save".
